I'm Michael Blades, an Integrative Psychotherapist - full member of the UKCP and member of the BACP (MBACP). I practice psychotherapy within a depth and transpersonal orientated way.
My work is influenced by subculture and the unknown whilst remaining grounded in current practice methods, theories and research. In part, I developed this perspective through my MSc, and I remain research active.
Clinically, my perspective arose out of an integrative frame of reference that uses Transactional Analysis as a core model, integrating analytical psychology – including object relations theory (Masterson approach), person centred therapy, attachment theory, and body-based trauma informed practices.
Whilst my current work honours the lineage of my training, I increasingly seek to develop a contemporary approach to practice which includes experiences that remain towards the edges of clinical certainty. I am also influenced by philosophy more broadly as well as the everyday moments that make life what it is. The psyche often speaks a strange and unusual language. I believe how we listen matters.
I look forward to hearing from you.
