I'm Michael Blades, an Integrative Psychotherapist, UKCP registered and a member of the BACP (MBACP). I practice psychotherapy from a depth and transpersonal orientation.
My work is influenced by subculture and the unknown whilst remaining grounded in current practice methods, theories and research. I developed this perspective through my MSc, and I remain research active.
Clinically, my perspective arose out of an integrative frame of reference that uses Transactional Analysis as a core model, drawing on analytical psychology, object relations theory (Masterson approach), person centred therapy, attachment theory, and body-based trauma informed practices.
Whilst my current work honours the lineage of my training, I increasingly seek to develop a contemporary approach to practice, one that includes experiences at the edges of clinical certainty. I am also influenced by philosophy more broadly, and by the everyday moments that make life what it is.
The psyche often speaks a strange and unusual language. I believe how we listen matters.
I look forward to hearing from you.
